Amy – Vanessa Matsui

VANESSA MATSUI is a writer-actor-director from Toronto of Japanese decent. She created and stars in the short series Ghost BFF, which won Best Web Series at the LA Femme International Film Festival, and was nominated for Best Web Series at the Austin Film Festival in 2017 and for two Canadian Screen Awards in 2019. It has over 4.7 million views across all platforms. She was recently selected as a 2019 Sundance New Voices Fellow where she developed the show’s second season. Matsui also co-created Crankytown.ca, an interactive website about getting your first period, which received a Gemini nomination for Best Digital Non-Fiction Program. Select acting credits include recurring roles on Letterkenny (Hulu), Shadowhunters (Freeform) and The Handmaids Tale (Hulu).

Tara –
Tiio Horn

Tiio recently starred in the action/thriller Mohawk, directed by Ted Geoghegan. Tiio plays the lead role of Oak, a young Mohawk woman pursued by ruthless renegade soldiers after one of her tribe sets an American soldier’s came ablaze, leading to a battle deep in the woods. Prior to that she starred in the independent romantic comedy Tell Me I Love You and recurred on Amazon’s critically acclaimed series Man In the High Castle. Tiio appeared in all seasons of the Netflix/Gaumont series Hemlock Grove, produced by Eli Roth. She recently starred in the indie film 22 Chaser and in two comedy series, What Would Sal Do and the 2017 Canadian Screen Award winner for Best Comedy Series, Letterkenny. Feature credits include Immortals, On The Road and the soon to be released remake of Death Wish, directed by Eli Roth. She has recurred on the SyFy shows Defiance and Alphas. Tiio also wrote, directed and starred in the short film The Smoke Shack, which has collected awards on the short-film circuit.

Dan Beirne

Dan Beirne is an actor and writer splitting his time between Toronto and Los Angeles. Dan was most recently the star of Matthew Rankin’s The Twentieth Century, which won Best Canadian First Feature at this yearʼs TIFF. In the States, Dan was a series regular on Greg Garcia’s TBS series The Guest Book and recurred on the final season of FX’s You’re The Worst. Prior, Dan recurred on FX’s second season of Fargo, where he played the role of “Sonny Greer.” Dan can also be seen on Hulu’s The Handmaid’s Tale and Starz’s Space Riders.

Cristina Rosato

Multi-talented actress Cristina Rosato got her start as the love interest of a kind-hearted zombie in the short film One Hot, Rotting Zombie Love Song. Since then, Cristina has booked roles on CBS’s Bull, Investigation Discovery’s Real Detective, The CW’s iZombie and Reign, Canal+’s Madame Hollywood, ABC/Global TV’s Rookie Blue, CTV’s Flashpoint and Saving Hope, SyFy’s Bitten and Showcase’s Lost Girl, among many other well-known television series. She has had large recurring roles on CBC’s upcoming 21 Thunder, Global TV’s Remedy, SyFy’s Helix, and on Sony/Crackle’s The Art of More, where she starred opposite Dennis Quaid and Kate Bosworth. Cristina is also credited in many films including Bad Santa 2, Territories and Conduct Unbecoming. Jon Cor

Actor Jon Cor booked his first audition for a major film franchise while courting multiple agencies at the end of the second year of the Theatre Arts and Performance program at Fanshawe College in London, Ontario. Since then, he has gone on to win increasingly key, diverse and demanding roles in projects such as Freeform’s Shadowhunters: The Mortal Instruments, Syfy’s Dark Matter and USA’s Suits. Jon is also a writer, martial arts tricker and hobby musician. His ambitions include releasing his first novel, In Heat, which was originally drafted when he was nineteen years old, as well as a collection of short stories, A Murder of Prose.

Award-winning actress Angela Asher began her career in the entertainment industry, working internationally as a model before making her transition into acting on both the small and big screens. Gwynne Phillips

Gwynne Phillips is best known for her work with sketch duo The Templeton Philharmonic, which has won many awards across Canada and the U.S., including the 2019 Just For Laughs Award and Best Comedy Duo at the LA Comedy Festival. She is the co-creator and co-host of the hit audio series None of Our Business, Audible Canada’s first-ever original audio series. Phillips has appeared in a variety of TV shows, including: Sensitive Skin (HBO Canada), Kim's Convenience (CBC), Bit Playas (CBC Gem) and The Amazing Gayl Pile (CBC Gem/Amazon Prime/OutTV).

Jean Yoon

Jean Yoon is a playwright, actor, advocate and mom. Born in Illinois and raised in Toronto, Jean has lived and worked in Vancouver, Edmonton, Harbin City and Yanji City in North Eastern China, and makes her home in Toronto.

Jean began her theatre career in the early 1980s, in Toronto, performing with the now long gone companies Upstage Theatre, Toronto Free Theatre and Canasian Artists Group. In the 1990s, Jean was active as a cultural equity advocate and new play producer. She was Cross Cultural Coordinator for Theatre Ontario 1991/92, and then Co-Artistic Director of Cahoots Theatre Projects 1992 to early 1994, founding Lift Off! and cementing Cahoots’s role as a leader in new play development for playwrights of diverse cultures.

Jean is best known for her work on the CBC television adaptation of Kim’s Convenience, for which she has received the ACTRA Award for Outstanding Performance Female 2017, and three CSA nominations. Other notable screen credits include Orphan Black, Dragon Boys, The Expanse, Save Me and voicing Connie in the Emmy Award-winning PBS show Peg + Cat.

Jane is currently in pre-production for her short film, The Little Toil of Love, in
which she will play the lead and is also working on a pilot and a feature. Jane is passionate about telling stories that highlight the female experience, which is one of the many reasons she is so honoured to be a part of Ghost BFF. Big hats off to Vanessa Matsui, and Katie Bird Nolan and Lindsay Tapscott of Babe Nation Films for bringing to life such a moving, funny, female-driven story!

Rick Roberts

Both a stage and screen actor for over three decades, Rick Roberts is arguably one of Canada’s most versatile actors.

Roberts currently stars in the new CBC series Fortunate Son. He starred in the series This Life, also for the CBC.

Recent guest appearances include Nurses (Corus/Global), Coroner (CBC), Designated Survivor (ABC), Sensitive Skin (TMN/Movie Central) and Between (Netflix). Features include Miss Sloane (FilmNation), Zoom (Rhombus Media), God and Country (Shaftesbury) and The Riverbank (Filmworks).

In 2013, Roberts starred in the CBC movie Jack where he played the role of the late Jack Layton. His performance garnered him the Canadian Screen Award and the ACTRA Award for Best Actor.

Dani Kind

Toronto-based actress Dani Kind stars as Anne in CBC's half-hour comedy series Workin' Moms. Kind recurs as Mercedes Gardner in SyFy's hit series Wynonna Earp, and is the star of SyFy's film Banana Splits. Other recent credits include CBS's Ransom, BET's In Contempt, and a supporting role alongside Peter Sarsgaard in Veena Sud's The Lie.

The Bros — Yani Gellman, Steve Lund and Thomas Colford

Yani Gellman

Yani Gellman is an award-winning talent, well known for his starring roles in the hugely popular Lizzie McGuire Movie and 47 Metres Down, as well as several hit television shows including Pretty Little Liars, 90210, and Bosch. Gellman has also appeared in memorable roles in a number of notable Canadian productions, including Workin’ Moms and Saving Hope. Gellman is also focused on creating his own stories and has found great success with his short film Greetings from the Planet Krog!, which was nominated for Best Narrative Short at the 2020 Slamdance Film Festival and won the 2020 Spirit of Slamdance Award.

Steve Lund

A proud son of Nova Scotia, Steve Lund took his family’s entertainer gene to a new place after hanging up his hockey skates in exchange for a life in showbiz. Once he graduated from the Vancouver Film School Acting program, he started to get roles on TV shows such as Hemlock Grove, Beauty and the Beast, Blue Mountain State and Haven. In 2014, Steve went on to appear as a series regular in Space’s werewolf drama Bitten. Since then, he has landed a number of roles, including the charismatic Nick Forbes in Hallmark’s Best Christmas Party Ever, the highborn rogue Luc Narcisse in The CW’s Reign, and the controversial town hottie Jake in CBC’s Schitt’s Creek. Most recently, Steve starred in two lead roles: Adam Darling in CBS’s reboot of Street Legal and Mitch in Warner Bro’s horror-comedy, The Banana Splits Movie. Next you will see him in Incendo’s upcoming thriller, Within These Walls, and season 2 of comedy web series Ghost BFF.

Thomas Colford

Thomas was born on the island of Cape Breton in Nova Scotia where he began his artistic pursuits. At 16, his desire to grow, perform, and create brought him to Toronto, where he began his professional career. Thomas is a versatile performer with training in film and stage acting, a plethora of dance disciplines, singing, and several musical instruments. Some acting highlights include a leading role in Season 2 of Backstage (Family Channel, Netflix, and Disney Worldwide), Mr. D (CBC), The Strain (FX), and now Ghost BFF (Whohaha and KindaTV). When Thomas isn’t acting, he can be found working on passion projects such as his comedic short The Ultimate Showdown (co-written, co-directed and co-parented by him and Robert Bazzocchi), set to premiere at YEAA's Reel World Film Festival 2020. He has recently been accepted into the Terry Knickerbocker Studio conservatory program, where he will continue his acting education this January in Brooklyn, NY. From stage to screen, performance to creation, Thomas shows no sign of slowing down. Always pursuing growth, art and fun, all while remembering his mantra, “Made With Purpose.”
